Recording/Copying ITV Player from Channel 4

Recording/Copying ITV Player from Channel 4

Postby reactiv8 » Thu Nov 17, 2016 1:05 pm

Just a thought but I was wondering if any of my wise peers knows of a way to record/copy from ITV Player ???
(Like Greasemonkey etc)

Coming up on Saturday 20th November on Channel 4 is 'The Rolling Stones: Ole Ole Ole A Trip Across Latin America' ...

I can probably record it on my Humax recorder via satellite, but it would be nice to copy it to my PC too ...

Chris.

Still puzzled ...

Postby reactiv8 » Tue Nov 22, 2016 9:10 pm

I'm really puzzled by this, as 4OD evidently know about our Lovely Linux (see above) and I thought I already had an up to date version of Adobe Flash Player :~

I would like to 'crack' this one and then it is only ITV Player left !!!

Any ideas/suggestion gratefully received.

Thanks,
Chris.

While it's fascinating to watch this auto-flagellation, I wonder, does 4OD work with Chrome on Linux? It works on ChromeOS.

Taking an age to play, and apparently no option to copy ?!

It seems that I'm going to have to resort to making an olde stylee DVD from my satellite recording ... Ho hum ... :(

Thanks anyway,
Chris.

SimpleScreenRecorder ...

Postby reactiv8 » Sat Nov 26, 2016 8:29 pm

I still can't get 4OD even to play in Chrome, but meanwhile I did discover SimpleScreenRecorder !!!

I'll give this a shot later and let you know, for those who enjoy watching the self-flagellation ?!

I've used SimpleScreenRecorder in the past, it worked well, but of course it needs a reasonably well-specced PC to work smoothly.

Intel Core i-7 12GB RAM SSD

Postby reactiv8 » Sun Nov 27, 2016 9:08 pm

Thanks @Rhakios !!!

My main desktop PC is an Intel Core i-7 with 12GB RAM & SSD which spends most of its time idle, and TBH my 'lesser' AMD quad core (also with SSD) is mostly more than adequate, well for my modest needs anyway. :|
- I'm sure most of my wise peers already knew that SSD makes the most difference ?!

I'll give SimpleScreenRecorder my full attention next week - I do have 22 days left ...

Your main box is far better than mine, so that should work fine. The most important thing to get a decent video, I found, was to be able to capture at the best possible resolution. This can be tricky if your monitor isn't 1080p, but given your other equipment, I'm sure you've got that at the very least.
