Alternatives to StackExchange?

Postby TenLeftFingers » Sun Feb 21, 2016 5:26 am

I can find plenty listed, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with any good alternatives that they can comment on?

My proposed site was dismissed because it was too closely related to an existing proposal so I want to host it myself.

Hi, what do you mean - you want to host your own StackExchange-like site?

If that's what you want then check out OSQA (http://www.osqa.net) which is inspired by the StackExchange community. There are many discussions of this nature on the interwebs if you ask our dark friend. it is even discussed on Stack Exchange - see http://meta.stackexchange.com/questions ... nge-clones.

Don't know if that helps at all...

Thanks johnlane. That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve. I hadn't come across osqa.net but did find some wordpress plugins. I'm currently using Sabai Discuss for wordpress which is minimal in features and comes with a price tag but should serve my purpose. Now I just need to figure out why my masked redirect is stopping links at the destination site from working properly.

osqa is a good one. Shapado and Coordino are some good sites may be you can prefer.
