Cling C++ interpreter

Postby cismalescumlord » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:29 am

Reading the review of cling in the latest edition has made me realise that there is nothing truly new any more. I can't be the only one who remembers, quite fondly, the HiSoft C Interpreter on the Atari ST. I was very into their BASIC and Assembly products at the time and only had the version from the cover disk of ST Format.

I remember thinking it was strange at the time that their BASIC was compiled and their C interpreted which was the polor opposite of how it was normally done. It was a fun tool to play with though. That was in 1987 if you want to feel old.
